Calvary Health Care in Australia chooses MEG software for more efficient care quality management

MEG has announced the roll-out of its healthcare audit management app across all hospital, community and aged care facilities within the Australian-based Calvary Health Care organisation and a new Customer Success hire for Australasia.

MEG’s integrated digital tools help hospitals and healthcare facilities monitor and improve care quality, reduce patient risk and alleviate onerous paperwork for staff through the use of interoperable, mobile and cloud-based technology.

Enterprise Ireland’s ‘Med in Ireland’ conference in Dublin, which showcases Ireland’s medtech industry to a global audience, set the scene for the initial introduction and commercial discussions between the two organisations.

Following a highly successful six-month long pilot of the software, the decision was made to adopt MEG as the digital audit management system of choice, signing a two-year contract to expand its use organisation-wide. The final rollout will involve 800 Calvary staff, across 95 facilities (including hospitals, community care and aged care homes) in multiple Australian states over the next six months.

MEG’s system will streamline audit processes, replacing paper workflows and giving real-time reports and action plans to local managers, regional and national staff. Moving to the MEG auditing system results in significant time and cost savings, gives management visibility of performance across the organisation and frees up frontline staff to focus on patient care and high value work.

The move is set to bolster the Calvary Health Care’s mission to position themselves as the health, community and aged care provider of choice in the communities they serve, and aligns with the technology investment strategy outlined in their Digital Vision for 2019-2025.

Kris Salisbury, Calvary’s National Director of Clinical Governance had this to say, “Calvary is committed to the ongoing improvement of the quality care we provide patients, residents and clients and MEG will assist in the automation and standardisation of tools and processes allowing improved visibility, reporting and time for clinicians and care providers. We are very excited to be one of the first in Australia to implement this solution across all our sites and services.”

Speaking about the announcement, MEG’s CEO, Kerrill Thornhill, said,  “We’re very excited and humbled to work with one of Australia’s leading and most prestigious healthcare providers and share their focus to improving quality and patient safety. It’s a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the great value that MEG offers to providers like Calvary, and shows our commitment to the ASEAN market.  Calvary’s progressive approach to the use of technology is shaping the future of how care is being delivered and will ultimately result in better outcomes for patients and residents alike.

In response to further growth in the region, MEG has also welcomed Lauren D’Souza, to the Australian Customer Success team. Lauren comes with a wealth of frontline healthcare experience and a passion for quality and patient safety, having previously worked as a theatre nurse in Perth before retraining to take up her customer-focused role with MEG.
