Irish beauty at the Ireland Pavilion of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna

  •  Enterprise Ireland showcases Irish companies at Cosmoprof, Europe’s largest beauty sector trade event
  • Double-digit growth in exports for Irish brands and start-ups in $500 billion global market

The diversity, growth and rising international profile of Irish beauty and cosmetics companies will be showcased by Enterprise Ireland at the Cosmoprof Worldwide beauty trade event in Bologna (Italy) between March 16-18.

Eight companies are being hosted on the Enterprise Ireland pavilion. This is the first time Ireland will have a national presence at Europe’s largest trade event for the beauty sector.

With more than 2,900 exhibitors from 64 countries and 220,000 visitors expected, Cosmoprof Worldwide is a valuable opportunity for these Enterprise Ireland-supported companies to source new buyers, connect with distributors and track international trends and competitors. The event will be attended by Peter Burke, Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence, who will visit the Irish Pavilion on March 16.

Speaking ahead of the event, Teri Smith, Manager Retail, Consumer & Online Team, Enterprise Ireland Dublin, said: “Cosmoprof Worldwide is the ideal platform to showcase the stellar rise of the Irish beauty and cosmetic sector which saw exports rise by 30% in 2021, representing 39% of total sales. This underlines the significant focus on international sales by companies in this sector. Cosmoprof provides a real opportunity to raise their profile further and the profile of Ireland as a source of quality, innovative, sustainable skincare offerings. The Enterprise Ireland pavilion will also showcase the collective strength of the Irish beauty products sector and how Ireland punches above its weight in the global beauty products market which is estimated to be worth $500 billion.”

Two of the Irish exhibitors have already gained high-profile recognition ahead of Cosmoprof Worldwide:

  • Nunaïa Beauty has been selected as a finalist in the green & organic sector for the Cosmoprof Awards, ‘the Oscars of the beauty sector’.
  • Seabody has been shortlisted for the influential CosmoTrends Report 2023 and will be part of the CosmoTrends guided tour for buyers, press and visitors.

John Roche, Director, Enterprise Ireland Italy,
said: “Enterprise Ireland is working to build a collaborative environment for these companies to continue to scale internationally. Through our supports, they are developing their digitalisation roadmap and optimising their e-commerce platforms. In addition, our network of 40 overseas offices actively supports clients in new markets by helping with market discovery and research, making introductions and bringing buyers to Ireland.”
